SSSS.DYNAZENON DVD/Blu-ray to include Live-action Bonus Footage "Gridknight Fight"

The four-volume DVD/Blu-ray of the spring 2021 TV anime SSSS.DYNAZENON will include newly-filmed live-action bonus footage "Gridknight Fight" featuring Gridknight's battles in a field in the mountains.

As its title suggests, it is an obvious homage to Tsuburaya Production's mini TV series in 1970-1971, Ultra Fight. The five-minute series simply reused battle scenes from Ultraman and Ultraseven first. But due to the lack of tokusatsu materials, its later episodes featured new scenes using the costumes originally made for the filming and events for both shows. They were filmed in various outdoor locations, such as mountains and beaches.

The four-episode series Gridknight Fight is written/directed by Yuichi Abe, the director of the 2010 film Ultraman Zero THE MOVIE Super Decisive Battle! Belial Galactic Empire, who also worked on the storyboards of the eight episode of SSSS.DYNAZENON. The voice cast include Kenichi Suzumura as Gridknight, Karin Takahashi as The 2nd, Tetsu Inada as Alexis Kerib, and Hiroshi Kamiya as the narrator.

The first DVD/Blu-ray volume of SSSS.DYNAZENON is set to be released on June 16, 2021, the second volume on July 21, the third volume on September 15, and the fourth volume on October 20.
