In commemoration of the release of Mamoru Hosoda's new anime feature film Ryu to Sobakasu no Hime / BELLE in Japan, Meiji Yasuda Life Insurance Company has started airing a new version of its collaboration anime commercial "Aki no Chikai" (Aki's Oath) featuring footage from the film.
The one of the largest life insurance companies in Japan has partnered with Studio Chizu, the internationally acclaimed animation film production studio that celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, and produced the original version of the anime CM in October 2020.
The clip centers on Aki, a 25-year-old young "MY Life" plan advisor (an insurance salesperson) at Meiji Yasuda Life Insurance Company, who wonders what "kindness" in her job really is. While showing Aki vowing "I will do my best to be kind to others," and the BELLE film's protagonist Suzu struggling to find "the only one" between the real and virtual worlds, this clip expresses Meiji Yasuda Life Insurance's belief that insurance is a relationship between people, and its desire to be the "most people-friendly life insurance company."
