It's time to hit the pool, because four new cast members and the theme song performers have been revealed for RE-MAIN, an upcoming original TV anime that focuses on the trials and tribulations of a high school water polo team. The new cast members (pictured above, from left to right) include:
- Hikaru Midorikawa as Akimitsu Bizen.
- Natsuki Hanae as Takeshi Toyama.
- Mahiro Takasugi as Akihisa Fukui. (special appearance)
- And Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Norichimi Ishikawa.
The opening theme, entitled "Forget Me Not", is performed by ENHYPEN. The ending theme, entitled "Kowareta Seikai no Byoshin wa" ("The Clock's Second Hand of a Broken World"), is performed by Shugo Nakamura.
The story of RE-MAIN is decribed as follows:
The protagonist is Minato Kiyomizu, who quit playing water polo in the winter of his third year of junior high school after an incident. He enters a high school and one promise leads to him starting playing water polo with the friends he met there. However, the weak and small water polo club is faced with a variety of difficulties...
RE-MAIN is directed by Masafumi Nishida and Kiyoshi Matsuda and features animation production by MAPPA. The series will broadcast in Japan as part of the TV Asahi "NUMAnimation" programming block on Saturdays during the 25:30 time slot (actually on Sunday morning at 1:30am JST) beginning on July 03, 2021.
