Dropkick on My Devil! Extra Anime Episode "Chapter Obihiro" Gets The Green Light

In addition to "Chapter Kushiro," it is confirmed today that the forthcoming Dropkick on My Devil! TV anime third season will have another extra episode, "Chapter Obihiro," thanks to its hometown tax project's huge success.

Following in the success of Chitose City in producing "Chapter Chitose" in 2020, three cities in Hokkaido (Kushiro, Obihiro, Furano) and one city in Nagasaki (Minamishimabara) launched their own hometown tax projects to collect the budget for anime episodes set in each city in October 2020. First, Kushiro City successfully reached its goal of 30 million yen (273,400 USD) in February 2021.

According to the report by Tokachi Mainichi News, Obihiro City's "Commerce, Industry and Tourism Fund" had been collecting funds for production of "Chapter Obihiro" since the end of November last year, and had finally raised more than 200 million yen (1.82 million USD) by the end of March of this year, reaching its target amount. Now that the production of the extra anime episode has been decided, Obihiro City will continue its promotional activities in cooperation with Kushiro City.

The TV anime third season Dropkick on My Devil X! is set to premiere in Japan in 2022.

Furusato Nouzei / Hometown Tax is a system in Japan that allows taxpayers who live in urban areas to contribute to rural areas with subtraction from income tax and residence tax, and the cities send their local products to donors in return. Furusato means hometown in Japanese, but in addition to their own hometown, taxpayers can pay tax anywhere they like or would love to help and encourage.
