Magia Record Season 2's New Trailer Announces July 31 Premiere, 3rd Season Revealed for End of 2021

The official Twitter account for Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story revealed not just information on the upcoming second season of the Puella Magi Madoka Magica spin-off, but also that a third season (and final!) was in production for the end of the year!

The above trailer announces the July 31 premiere date for the second season of Magia Record on TOKYO MX, alongside previewing the ending theme song "Lapis" by TrySail. ClariS will be performing the opening theme song "Careless."

A third and final season of Magia Record was also revealed tonight and will air "at the end of 2021," though no definitive date has been confirmed as of right now. 

 

Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story is a spin-off of the hit 2011 TV anime, Puella Magi Madoka Magica, which is based on the Magica Record smartphone game and streamed its first season on Crunchyroll as it aired. The series is described as such:

 

In exchange for the fulfillment of a wish, Magical Girls keep fighting, unbeknownst to the rest of the world. But Iroha Tamaki can’t seem to remember her wish. "When I became a Magical Girl, what did I wish for again?" There is a gaping hole in her life. Something important has been lost. But she continues to fight every day, without even knowing why… Then, a rumor begins to spread among Magical Girls. "Magical Girls can be saved if they go to Kamihama." Kamihama City, the city where Magical Girls and Uwasa are gathering. The story of Iroha Tamaki, in search of her lost wish, begins…
