Legend of Mana Goes on Another Quest in Anime Adaptation

 Legend of Mana

It's time to once again head into the world of Fa'Diel in the newly announced anime adaptation of the 1999 video game Legend of Mana. The anime series, titled Legend of Mana – The Teardrop Crystal -, is in production to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Mana video game series. The first teaser visual for the anime was released with a very familiar tree to coincide with the news.

Legend of Mana – The Teardrop Crystal -

Legend of Mana – The Teardrop Crystal - is based on the 4th game in the Mana video game that originally released on the PlayStation. The game got a remaster this year on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC, which release on June 24. Graphinica and Yokohama Animation Laboratory, who produced the animation for the remastered version's opening movie, will also be producing the animation for the anime.

Producer on the Mana series at Square Enix, Masaru Oyamada, had this to say about the announcement:

When the animation project was first pitched to me, the remastering of “Legend of Mana” was not even in discussions. I initially attended the meeting without deep thoughts, but when Mr. Yawata from Warner Bros. Japan passionately pitched the “Legend of Mana” animation project (with so much love), I realized I need to create the game as soon as I can.

So rumor has it, that’s how the HD remaster project began.

Fans of the “Legend of Mana”, please be assured. The people involved in the project still have the love for the series just the same as back then.
