By the Grace of the Gods Anime to Return with Season 2

By the Grace of the Gods

Based on the isekai fantasy light novel series written by Roy and illustrated by Ririnra, the By the Grace of the Gods anime is officially set to return for more. The official website and Twitter announced plans for a second season, with Ryoma and Eliaria reuniting three years after the events of the first.

Chief animation director and character designer Kaho Deguchi (If It's for My Daughter, I'd Even Defeat a Demon Lord) whipped up a special illustration for the announcement.

In addition to the season two reveal, Funimation already confirmed plans to simulcast the continuation.

The original By the Grace of the Gods light novels are published in Japan by Hobby Japan under their HJ Novels imprint, and an English language version is also available from J-Novel Club. Funimation describes the story of the series as follows:

When 39-year-old Takebayashi Ryoma dies from blood loss (after sneezing and hitting his head on the ground), he is reincarnated as an 8-year-old boy in a fantasy world. Not the greatest way to bite the dust, but at least he reincarnates! Set on this path by three major gods, Ryoma begins to live a life of solitude in the forest, studying slimes. But if you’re a fan of isekai…you know life for him won’t be that simple.
